  • Beyond the E-Bin!

    Although it might be hard to believe, it’s only been 28 years since we were first introduced to the World Wide Web by its inventor, the British computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee. Since then, the internet has become an integral part of the lives of more than half of the world’s population. Almost two-thirds of the world’s population now has a mobile phone. Billions of electronics are manufactured every year to keep up with the latest and greatest technology. This increase in electronics usage has led to an expected growth in electronic waste (e-waste) of 33%. That’s 72 million tonnes!—with the average person using over 900 kg of electronics (that’s as much as two adult grizzly bears) in their lifetime.
